Lead Electrician

Position Summary:

As the Lead Electrician, you will play a vital role in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems. This comprehensive position encompasses various responsibilities, including managing a team of journeyman and apprentice electricians, while also collaborating with project management to ensure smooth coordination and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical System Installation and Maintenance: Take charge of installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in compliance with established safety standards and codes. This includes overseeing the installation of wiring, fixtures, and other electrical components, as well as conducting regular inspections to identify and address any issues or malfunctions.
  2. Team Management: As a Lead Electrician, you will not only be responsible for your own work but also for ensuring the productivity and efficiency of your team. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance and training to apprentice electricians, monitoring progress, and promoting a positive work environment.
  3. Coordination with Project Management: Collaborate closely with project management teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints. Additionally, communicate any potential challenges or opportunities for improvement, ensuring effective coordination between the electrical team and other departments or stakeholders.
  4. Quality Control and Compliance: Maintain high standards of quality and safety in all electrical installations and repairs. Regularly review work completed by the team to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
  5. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Utilize your expertise to troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose problems, and develop effective solutions in a timely manner. This requires strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare accurate and comprehensive reports, including project updates, work orders, material requisitions, and equipment maintenance logs. Maintain organized records of all electrical activities for future reference and audit purposes.
  7. Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated with industry standards, technological advancements, and electrical codes through ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Share knowledge and best practices within the team to foster growth and innovation.

Qualifications and Objectives:

- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.

- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, wiring methods, and safety protocols.

- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, project managers, and clients.

- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.

- Proficient in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.

- Possess necessary certifications and licenses as required by local and national regulations.

- On Site Management of projects

- Install electric energy meters.

As the Lead Electrician, you will be an essential part of the electrical team, ensuring the successful completion of projects and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Vo- Tech, High School Diploma, or GED preferred.
  • 5+years’ work experience in the electrical field preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, Walk, and Bend for an extended period of time.
  • Work from heights.

Electrical Apprentice 

Position Summary

As an Electrical Apprentice you will be responsible for assisting electricians with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems.

OBJECTIVES

  • Install lighting and electrical devices.
  • Thread conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings.
  • Secure brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals.
  • Use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers.
  • Replace faulty switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire.
  • Replace old fuse boxes.
  • Hook up appliances for power.
  • Install new lighting and ceiling fans.
  • Rewire homes and businesses.
  • Performing physical laborer tasks as needed to assist Electricians in underground related work.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work safely and effectively with crew.
